Description The back tees on the par 5 10 th hole are located atop the hill, next to the putting green. This location provides a spectacular view of the valley below. A well-struck tee shot seems to hang in the air forever. This sharp dogleg to the right has all of the beauty and intrigue of a well-written thriller. The bunkers left and right define the dogleg. Avoid these and the second shot is faced with a narrowing fairway, a hazard running down the right side and out of bounds down the left. The long hitters can take a chance and cut the corner but it may not be worth it in the long haul. The average player must hit the second shot straight and down the hill leaving a short third shot to an uphill green. The two-tiered green once again places a premium on putting. The greenside bunkers catch balls easily and frequently. Walking away with a par prepares the players with a sense of anticipation for the adventure Jones has planned for the backside. |
