Description The middle hole of Carambola’s Amen corner, the 12th is longer than the 11th but similar only because of the out of bounds on the left. This is one of those holes that can grab players when least expected. An excellent tee shot leaves the long hitters with a medium to long iron approach. The green is bunkered in a Mackenzie fashion with many small bunkers seemingly everywhere. The severe two-tiered green makes putting very eventful. The hole is situated in the same direction as the par 4 11th but is not the same in play or feel. Truly, Jones’ ability is on display with subtle differences he incorporates into his design. A marvelous use of property and terrain, the 12th hole sets up players for a more daunting challenge just ahead.
