Description
13th Hole
Remember how daunting the par 3 8th hole was? Well take that and make
it a par 4. The 13th is 470 yards downhill, into the prevailing wind,
dogleg right, out of bounds left and two severe swales running across
the fairway. Survival is important. The ideal tee shot skirts the right
side bunkers to the left. If the tee shot goes too long it ends up at
the bottom of the first swale, leaving no clear look at the green. Even
the longest players are faced with a long iron or even a fairway wood
for their second shot.
The green is narrow
from front to back, with three bunkers pinching the left side. The right
side bunker in front of the green catches balls wandering down the fairway.
The out of bounds behind the green is dangerously close. Amen corner
completed.
