Description The par 4 16th is a straightaway hole. However, Jones’ bunkering makes the hole look like a dogleg right. The fairway slopes from right to left with the right bunkers closer to the tee than the left side bunkers. Finding the middle of the fairway demands great accuracy. The relatively short second shot must negotiate large bunkers on the left. The hazard line on the left side has hurt many a hooking golfer who tries to overpower this hole. The gravestone on the tee is memorable in quoting the individual beneath by proclaiming: “Everybody needs to believe in something and I believe I will have a drink.”
